In-Person Attendee FAQ’s and Need to Know

Attending the 2021 Hybrid Educator Conference in person:

Do I need to register for the conference to attend sessions?
Yes, to earn renewal units you will need to register and pay prior to attending the conference.  We must select your sessions prior to October 20, 2021, to reserve your seat in session(s). Seats are limited and reserved this year.
 
Can I register at the conference on October 21 & 22?
Yes, you may register at the conference as a virtual attendee only. 
 
Can I register for the conference and not pay until at the conference?
Yes, but your registration fees will increase to late fees on October 19th.  You may build your itinerary prior to paying, but your seat will not be reserved, instead you will be put on a waitlist for each session.  Seats are limited in each session. There is no guarantee you will be able to get into the session if you are waitlisted.
 
Can I attend the conference one day?
Yes, you may attend the conference only one day. 
 
Do I need to select my sessions prior to October 19, 2021?
Yes, you will need to select your sessions to reserve your seat.  Sessions have limited seating.  Sitting on the floor will not be permitted.   
 
What happens if I am placed on a waitlist for a session?
If a seat opens in a session and you are the next person in line, the session will appear on your itinerary. 
 
Will I earn renewal units?
Yes, you will earn renewal unit(s) by registering, selecting session, checking into session, and completion of an evaluation for each session you attend.
 
When will my renewal certificate be available?
Renewal certificates will be available 10 days after the conference.  You will be able to log into your conference attendee registration to download and print your certificate. 
 
How will I earn renewal units?
          • Register for conference
          • Select sessions - build itinerary (prior to October 19th).
          • On conference days October 21-22, 2021, attend only the sessions you registered to attend.
          • You will be asked for an evaluation at the end of each session located in your conference registration portal.
    You are eligible for 1 renewal unit for each 50-minute session you attend.
     
    Can I earn a renewal unit for visiting Exhibit Hall?
    No.
     
    Where do I find the evaluation to complete?
    You will find the evaluation in your registration portal.
     
    How long do I have to complete the evaluation?
    You will have until October 29th.
     
    What happens if I don’t answer the evaluation?
     You need to complete the evaluation to receive your renewal unit(s) for the session.
     
    What if one of my sessions is cancelled before the conference starts?
    Select a new session prior to October 21st.
     
    What if a session on my itinerary is canceled during the conference?
            • Go into your conference registration.
            • Build your itinerary.
            • Select an open session.  Keynotes, Amanda Curtis, or Virtual sessions are all unlimited seating sessions during the conference. 
            • Be sure to give a name card from your badge to the presenter or session facilitator at the end of the session for your evaluation to be presented.
      What if the session I am attending has a “no show” presenter?
              • Go into your conference registration.
              • Build your itinerary.
              • Select an open session.  Keynotes, Amanda Curtis, or Virtual sessions are all unlimited seating sessions during the conference. 
              • Be sure to give a name card from your badge to the presenter or session facilitator at the end of the session for your evaluation to be presented.
        Where are the handouts?
        In your itinerary, next to the session title you will find a button for handouts.  Handouts may not be available for all sessions.
         
        What if I have COVID symptoms and I am registered to attend the conference in person? Can I get a refund?
        Please stay home if you have symptoms.  You may change your itinerary to virtual sessions.  No refunds will be given.
         
        Can I attend sessions that are offered virtually also?
        Yes, you can attend sessions that are virtual and in person.
        MFPE EDCON are virtual rooms
        CMR are rooms located at C.M. Russell High School.  
         
        What are the COVID restrictions for the conference?
        Masks will be required.
